L&T is one of India’s major producers of cement, with a cumulative manufacturing capacity of over 10.65 million tonnes per year.

L&T’s cement plants have dry process kilns incorporating precalcination technology. Advanced instrumentation systems, with computerised on-line X-ray, ensure consistently high quality cement. Process parameters are monitored and controlled by computer based systems. Elaborate dust control facilities like electrostatic precipitators, multi-cyclones and dust filters have been installed. Captive mines adjacent to the factories supply high grade limestone. Infrastructure includes all-weather roads and rail sidings. All L&T’s cement plants are based on the design of F.L. Smidth & Co. A/S., Denmark.
