SULPHATE RESISTING PORTLAND (SRPC)

Sulphates attack tricalcium aluminate (C3A) phase of portland cement. The reaction leads to cracking and disintegration of concrete. The concrete can be protected by using SRPC conforming to IS : 12330-1988.

The typical test results of SRPC supplied by ACC as per IS: 12330-1988 is as follows:
C3A percent : 2.5
Fineness m2/kg : 32.5
Compressive Strength(MPa)
3 days (min.) : 28
7 days (min.) : 38
28 days (min.) : 47

Salient Features:-

  • Excellent sulphate resisting properties.
  • Can be safely used in soils and ground water containing sulphate in excess of 0.2% and 300 ppm respectively.
  • Required only upto plinth level.
  • Other properties just like any other high grade (43 grade) cement.
  • Checks other chemical attacks indirectly.
  • For large and specific requirements, various physical and chemical parameters can be modified to meet the individual needs.
Applications
  • In all foundations placed in sulphate rich environment viz. near the sea, arid zones, marshy areas etc.
  • Any construction near the sea coast - eg ports, jetties, bridge across the sea etc.
  • Sewage systems (including concrete pipes).
  • Water treatment plants.
  • Civil construction near sulphuric acid plants etc.
Packaging
  • Available in 50 kg bag.
  • Bulk supplies can also be arranged for large requirements.
